our new puppy!

Meet Strider, our new puppy! (can anyone recognize where we got his name?!) He's a 9 week old mix of all sorts of things- husky and lab for sure (that's what his mama is) and they thought the dad was a german shepard, but after seeing such a rainbow mix of a litter (all 8 puppies looked different) who knows. He's got GIANT sized paws and is similarly colored to Sydney. While he acts like a puppy, he isn't too hyper and hasn't nipped much, and already knows how to play catch. somewhat, at least. Today was his first time leaving his home, riding in a car, going into a store, and obviously, coming to our house. When you call him he just looks at you and stays put, and he wasn't too fond of being on a leash at Mud Bay. In the car, Kyle said his whining sounded like a chicken ("so we should name him chicken, mom!") good idea kyle, but I don't want to be yelling "Chicken! Sit!" all the time. :)

We also found out today Kyle will be going to half day Kindergarten this fall, and this evening Kyle did an amazing job at testing for his brown belt at Taekwondo. While I am biased, he really is my best student. :) He even broke boards in front of everybody, and showed awesome leadership by being the first one and the most respectful one in answering up at testing.
