Marysville Tournament

Kyle's only had four weeks to learn his new form; and he did great! He struggled in a few spots to remember what comes next; but he didn't stop and figured it out. (your score goes down if you stop and start all over again) I'm proud of how focused he was. He ultimately got 2nd place in forms, after going again against another boy when they both tied for 1st place. This was his first tournament NOT competing as a tiny tiger, but with the older kids. I think his ring was boys 7 and under, there was five of them.

Karis has really improved over the last year. A year ago she wouldn't compete. This year she was ready to go, followed along great and had her usual spunk and spark. This was her first time sparring at a tournament- she's got a great jump #1 round kick!

Because the kids both competed at the same time four rings apart, we had to split our time and run to the other ring. I don't even think the kids noticed, they were so focused and confident.

Sadly, Karis said she wasn't feeling good so by the time they were done competing and they received their trophies (2nd forms, 3rd sparring KJ, Awesome weapons form and I don't remember what she got her 2nd medal for, I'll have to ask) she wasn't in the mood for photos.

We left early and she went downhill fast. Before we made it to the freeway, she was telling us to not hit any red lights and get her home NOW so she can lay down in her bed. Poor girl.
