-kaylie uses a fork and spoon really well; eats cereal with (some) milk in it from a bowl with spoon. she's also been babbling/talking a lot more lately, and is still extremely clingy. (see notes about Jess, below). she's also eating a ton of food again, so expect a growth spurt soon.

-kyle did soccer camp (VBS from church) this week; loved it; and received the Sportsmanship Award from his group. He had two other Kyle's in his group- and that was just the 6 year old boys!

-karis wants me to call her "Michael Phelps" instead of sweetpea and/or Karis, because he is her new favorite Olympian. can't blame her. She refuses to watch any women on TV, just the boys swimming and gymnastics; and gets mad everytime Phelps takes flowers at the medal ceremony. "boys don't do flowers" she says. Boy, she's goofy. She also wears scuba goggles and dives off the couch and "swims" around whenever we're watching the Olympic swim races.
-Jessica has been preparing for TKD testing next Saturday (well, so have the kids too) and it's creative board breaking this time around; meaning, we need to come up with something different and creative for our breaks instead of doing ones off the list of required breaks. So, since Kaylie is so darn clingy all the time; my breaks are with baby in my right arm and I'm doing an elbow and a backfist with my left hand, to demonstrate evidence of power if I was accosted while shopping or coming out to the parking lot (a real life situation). I've got to fine tune the board positions and all that; but I think I can pull it off.

-we also might be changing our phone number if the phone calls continue. Twice today I had somebody call saying I had requested info about grants (which i did research a long time ago but don't recall asking for free booklets) and both times I said that I wouldn't be paying any money over the phone ("just $2.50 for shipping and handling!") they immediately hung up on me. And, on Monday the Seattle Times called about a missed payment, and when I said I wouldn't pay money over the phone but could I get my account number, the amount owed and a phone number to call them back; they hung up immediately too. Either something fishy is going on, or customer service has gotten really bad lately. There's a reason why I have a policy NOT to pay over the phone if THEY called me first!!
