My Sweet Naive Kid

Jess: "Kyle, how was your Halloween party at school today?"
KJ: "it was fun. I got to meet Mr. McHugh's brother today. He came to the party."
Jess: thinks to self, "oh, ok; fun!"

a few hours later...
Jess: "so did everybody wear costumes for the party?"
Kyle: "well, Mr. McHugh had a toothache, so he didn't go to the party. But his brother wore a cowboy costume."
Jess: "wait- your teacher didn't go to the party?"
KJ: "yeah, he said his tooth was bothering him, and left when we had the party. But then a few minutes later his brother showed up. His name is Mr. McHugh too. He looks just like my teacher. But he was dressed like a cowboy."
Jess: "and he looked just like him? Did your teacher come back to the party?"
KJ: "yeah, a lot of the kids in class said it was really our teacher dressed up. But I know it wasn't him. He left the party and then Mr. M was feeling better and came back to teach class."
Jess: "how do you know it wasn't him?"
Kyle: "because i believe my teacher. If he said it was his brother, than I believe him."
