Hedgehog Preparedness Plan

the Tiny Tigers are learning about Disaster Preparedness in class; and last night Karis came home all excited to show us what she had learned.

"Mom, close your eyes, and yell "HEDGEHOG" really loud, okay?!" she seemed so excited.

Looking at DJ who also seemed equally confused, I closed my eyes and complied.

Upon opening our eyes, we saw Karis crawl underneath the dining room table, and then curl up on the floor with her hands protecting her head.

Then she emerged, proud of what she had done.

"See, I know what to do if it happens!"

"If WHAT happens?" we asked.

"Well, I can't remember what it's called, but it's when the ground starts shaking and things start to fall off bookcases. I'm supposed to get under a doorway or table to stay safe."

"You mean an earthquake?"

"Yeah, that's it. I couldn't remember the word so I just thought the word 'hedgehog' would work instead."

Well of course 'hedgehog' is a perfectly good substitute for 'earthquake'. Duh!
